Empowering Gasebolao-Tshukudung through Civic Education: Building Informed and Engaged Communities!
Mr Jenes Manhe, NCPL John Taolo Gaetsewe Regional Liaison Officer, facilitated a civic education workshop at a tribal gathering in Gasebolao-Tshukudung, a village near Kuruman.
Through this session, community members gained insight into legislative processes, with emphasis on public participation as an important component of a democratic governance, as well as the petition system.
Not only was this workshop an informative session for the community of Gasebolao-Tshukudung, but these community members also took this session to their advantage. The community saw this as an opportunity for them to communicate various issues they are faced with in their everyday lives, as well as the poor service delivery. Which led to more interest in the petition system.
Thank you, Gasebolao-Tshukudung, for lending us your ears.
